๐Ÿ“„ Generate Quizzes from Documents

30.12.2025 Tomek Sawko

Generate Quizzes from Documents: PDF, Word, PowerPoint

Got a training presentation? A lecture script? Product documentation? Now you can upload the file and get a ready quiz. AI will analyze the content and generate questions โ€“ no retyping, no copying, no wasted time.

๐Ÿ“„ How does it work?

Go to the AI generator. Instead of typing a topic, switch to "Upload File". Drag your document โ€“ PDF, Word, or PowerPoint. Choose the number of questions and language. Click "Generate". Moments later, you have a quiz based on your document's content.

What does this give you?

Zero retyping. Got a 50-page training script? You don't need to read and summarize it. Upload the file, AI extracts key information and creates assessment questions.

Quizzes from real materials. Questions directly reference the content that participants were supposed to read or learn. These aren't generic internet questions โ€“ these are questions from your document.

Hours of work saved. Preparing 10 questions from a 30-page document takes a human an hour. AI does it in 30 seconds.

๐Ÿ“ Supported Formats

  • PDF โ€“ reports, e-books, articles, documentation
  • Word (.doc, .docx) โ€“ scripts, notes, instructions
  • PowerPoint (.ppt, .pptx) โ€“ training presentations, lectures

Maximum size: 20 MB. The system analyzes up to 40,000 characters of text.

๐Ÿ’ก When does it work best?

After training. You have a presentation you just showed the team. Upload it to the generator โ€“ knowledge check quiz ready in a minute.

After a lecture. Students received a PDF with materials. Generate a quiz directly from the same document. Questions are consistent with the material.

During onboarding. New employee is supposed to read the documentation. Quiz verifies they actually absorbed it.

Before an exam. Have a textbook in PDF? Generate a quiz for self-study.

โš ๏ธ Important Limitation

The system analyzes text only. If your document consists mainly of images, charts, or graphic tables โ€“ AI has nothing to analyze. Ideal are text-heavy documents: scripts, articles, documentation, presentations with lots of text on slides.

Scanned documents (images of text) also won't work โ€“ you need a native PDF with a text layer.

๐Ÿ“Š Where to use it?

  • Corporate training โ€“ quiz after each module, based on training materials
  • Education โ€“ tests from textbooks and lecture scripts
  • Compliance โ€“ verification of procedure and regulation knowledge
  • Products โ€“ quiz from documentation for clients or partners
  • HR โ€“ knowledge test from onboarding materials

Separate Generation Pool

Generating from documents requires more AI resources than topic-based generation. That's why it has a separate limit. Check available generations in Settings โ†’ AI โ†’ File Generations.

Why does this matter?

Until now, creating a quiz from an existing document required:

  1. Reading the entire material
  2. Selecting key information
  3. Formulating questions
  4. Preparing answers
  5. Entering everything into the system

Now: upload file, click button, get quiz. The entire process โ€“ from document to ready quiz โ€“ takes less than a minute.

This changes how you think about knowledge verification. You no longer need to wonder "is it worth making a quiz from this material". It is โ€“ because it costs nothing in terms of time.

Feature available for users with appropriate permissions. Supported formats: PDF, DOC, DOCX, PPT, PPTX. Maximum file size: 20 MB.

๐Ÿ‘ฅ Team Mode

22.12.2025 Tomek Sawko

Team Mode: Compete Together

Quizzes just got social. The new Team Mode lets participants play in teams, where it's not just about individual scores, but the whole group's collaboration.

๐Ÿ‘ฅ How does it work?

Enable Team Mode in quiz settings. Choose the number of teams (2 to 8). Participants join teams โ€“ they choose themselves, system assigns randomly, or you assign manually. Each player's points contribute to their team's total score.

What does this give you?

Team building. Participants stop competing against each other โ€“ they start collaborating. "If you answer correctly, we all benefit." It's a completely different dynamic than individual quizzes.

Bonus system. Teams can earn extra points: +50 for a perfect round (everyone answered correctly), +25 for fastest average time, +30 for advancing 2+ positions in ranking. After 3 perfect rounds in a row โ€“ ร—1.2 point multiplier.

Flexible assignment. Three modes: participants choose their team, system assigns randomly and evenly, or host assigns manually via drag and drop.

๐ŸŽจ 8 Ready-Made Teams

No need to invent names or colors. The system offers 8 predefined teams:

  • ๐Ÿ”ฅ Fire โ€“ red
  • ๐Ÿ’ง Azure โ€“ blue
  • ๐Ÿƒ Green โ€“ green
  • ๐Ÿ‘‘ Gold โ€“ gold
  • ๐Ÿ’Ž Violet โ€“ purple
  • โ˜€๏ธ Coral โ€“ orange
  • ๐Ÿ’— Rose โ€“ pink
  • โš“ Teal โ€“ teal

Each team has a unique icon and color. Names display in the quiz language.

๐Ÿ† Bonus System

Perfect Round (+50 pts): All team members answered correctly. Builds positive pressure โ€“ "don't let the team down."

Speed Bonus (+25 pts): Team with the fastest average response time. Rewards not just knowledge, but the whole team's reflexes.

Comeback Bonus (+30 pts): Team advanced 2+ positions. Gives weaker teams a chance โ€“ it's never too late for a comeback.

Streak Bonus (ร—1.2): Three perfect rounds in a row activate the multiplier. Each subsequent one maintains it. One mistake โ€“ reset to zero.

๐Ÿ“Š Where to use it?

  • Corporate training โ€“ department integration, building communication
  • Classes โ€“ divide class into groups, desk-to-desk rivalry
  • Events โ€“ tournaments between teams, departments
  • Team building โ€“ fun with collaboration element
  • Onboarding โ€“ new employees get to know each other through play

๐ŸŽฏ Team Results

After the quiz ends, you'll see:

  • Team Podium โ€“ Top 3 with total points
  • MVP for each team โ€“ best performer in each team
  • Statistics โ€“ accuracy, average time, bonuses earned
  • Individual ranking โ€“ classic ranking of all players

Reports (PDF, Excel) include full team data โ€“ perfect for summaries.

โš™๏ธ Additional Options

Maximum member count โ€“ limit team size (e.g., max 5 people).

Team switching in lobby โ€“ let participants change teams before start.

Host assignment โ€“ drag participants between teams in the lobby panel.

Why does this matter?

Individual quizzes test single people's knowledge. Team Mode tests knowledge + collaboration + communication. A participant who knows the answer but didn't respond fast enough โ€“ can count on a teammate. A weaker player supported by the team doesn't feel left out.

This transforms quizzes from an assessment tool to a relationship-building tool. And as a bonus โ€“ it's simply more fun.

Team Mode available for all users. Enable it in quiz settings โ†’ Team Mode.

๐Ÿค– AI-Powered Quiz Generation

22.12.2025 Tomek Sawko

AI-Powered Quiz Generation

Creating quizzes just got 10x faster. The new feature lets you generate a complete quiz โ€“ with questions, answers, and explanations โ€“ in seconds. Just provide a topic.

๐Ÿค– How does it work?

Click "Generate with AI" in the quiz panel. Enter a topic, like "Ancient Roman History". Choose the number of questions and language. Click "Generate". Moments later, you have a ready quiz with professionally crafted questions.

What does this give you?

Time savings. Creating a 10-question quiz typically takes 20-30 minutes. With AI โ€“ less than a minute. You can generate a quiz right before a class, training session, or meeting.

Question quality. AI doesn't create trivial questions. It generates varied types (single choice, multiple choice, true/false, ordering), ensures different difficulty levels, and adds explanations to answers.

Multilingual support. Quizzes can be in Polish, English, Spanish, German, or Korean. Everything โ€“ title, questions, answers, explanations โ€“ in your chosen language.

๐Ÿ“ Generation Form

Required fields:

  • Topic โ€“ describe what the quiz should cover
  • Number of questions โ€“ from 1 to 30
  • Language โ€“ PL, EN, ES, DE, or KO

Optional fields:

  • Difficulty level โ€“ easy, medium, hard
  • Question types โ€“ which types to include
  • Additional instructions โ€“ custom guidelines for AI

๐Ÿ’ก Tips for Better Results

Be specific. "World War II History in Europe" will produce better questions than just "History". The more precise the topic, the more relevant the questions.

Use instructions. The "Additional instructions" field is your secret weapon. You can write: "Focus on dates and historical figures" or "Avoid questions about proper names". AI will adapt to your guidelines.

Review the output. AI is great, but not infallible. Always review generated questions before use. You can edit, delete, or add your own.

๐Ÿ”‘ API Sources

The system offers two modes:

Global pool โ€“ you use the platform's quota. Free generations each month, visible in Settings โ†’ AI.

Own API key โ€“ connect your OpenAI, Anthropic, Google, or other provider key. Pay the provider directly, get unlimited generations within your budget.

๐Ÿ“Š Where to use it?

  • Teachers โ€“ quick knowledge-check quizzes after lessons
  • Trainers โ€“ post-training tests without hours of preparation
  • HR teams โ€“ onboarding quizzes for new employees
  • Event organizers โ€“ corporate trivia games in 5 minutes
  • Content creators โ€“ engaging quizzes for your audience

Why does this matter?

Time has always been the barrier to quiz creation. Coming up with questions, formulating answers, checking accuracy โ€“ that's hours of work. AI removes that barrier.

Now you can create quizzes as often as you want. Quick quiz at the start of a meeting? No problem. Summary test after each chapter? Easy. A week's worth of quizzes? Generate them in 10 minutes.

The quality of education and training depends on regular knowledge verification. With AI, this verification becomes practical โ€“ not just for those who have time to create tests manually.

Feature available for users with appropriate permissions. Check your quota in Settings โ†’ AI.

๐Ÿ–๏ธ New question type: Raise Hand!

13.12.2025 Tomek Sawko

New question type: Raise Hand!

I've added a completely new question type โ€“ "Raise Hand". Instead of selecting an answer from a list, participants compete to be the first to click the button.

๐Ÿ–๏ธ How it works

The host displays a question. Participants see a large "RAISE HAND!" button instead of standard A, B, C, D options. Whoever clicks first gets to answer.

What's the benefit?

Game show dynamics. Familiar with formats like "Jeopardy" or quiz bowl? Now you can recreate that same excitement in your quiz. It's about reflexes, not just knowledge.

Voice interaction. The participant who raised their hand answers verbally. The host evaluates the answer and awards points. This forces real interaction instead of just clicking.

Elimination of guessing. In multiple choice questions, you can get lucky. Here you need to know the answer because you'll have to say it out loud.

๐Ÿ”„ Round system

Each question can have up to 3 rounds:

Round 1: Everyone can raise their hand. The first one called answers.

Round 2: If the answer was wrong, the question continues. The person who answered incorrectly is blocked โ€“ they can't raise their hand again.

Round 3: Last chance. Fewer and fewer participants can compete.

This builds tension โ€“ each wrong answer eliminates a player from subsequent attempts.

โšก Who was first?

The system measures time down to milliseconds. The host's screen shows a list of submissions sorted from fastest. No debates about "who was first" โ€“ the data is definitive.

The participant who raised their hand fastest immediately sees "You were the fastest!" โ€“ they know it's their turn.

๐Ÿ† Scoring

The host decides how many points to award:

  • Full points for a correct answer
  • Partial points for an incomplete answer
  • Zero for errors

Flexible scoring allows rewarding creative or elaborate answers.

๐Ÿ“Š Where to use it?

  • Training sessions โ€“ checking understanding through open questions
  • Game shows โ€“ classic format with quick reactions
  • Classroom โ€“ engaging students to answer out loud
  • Corporate events โ€“ dynamic questions with competition element

Why does this matter?

Standard questions test knowledge. "Raise Hand" tests knowledge + reflexes + courage. Participants must be confident in their answer because they can't hide behind an anonymous click. That's a completely different level of engagement.

๐ŸŒ™ Dark mode in the app

13.12.2025 Tomek Sawko

Dark mode for your eyes and ambiance

ZTWS Quiz now has a dark mode. Switch with one click and the entire interface transforms into a dark color palette.

๐ŸŒ™ How to enable it?

In the user menu (or language menu for guests), you'll find a "Dark Mode" toggle. Click it โ€“ the change is instant.

What's the benefit?

Less eye strain. Hosting an evening quiz? A dark background is gentler on the eyes than a bright white screen. Especially important during longer sessions.

Battery savings. On devices with OLED screens, dark pixels use less energy. Running a quiz on a tablet during an event? Your battery will thank you.

Aesthetics. Some people simply prefer dark interfaces. Now they have a choice.

๐Ÿ”„ Three modes

  • Light โ€“ classic, white interface
  • Dark โ€“ dark background, light text
  • System โ€“ automatically matches your device settings

If you have dark mode enabled on your phone/computer and choose the system option, the quiz will automatically switch along with the time of day.

๐Ÿ’พ Preference memory

Your choice is saved locally. On your next visit โ€“ even without logging in โ€“ you'll see the quiz in your preferred mode. Each device remembers settings separately.

๐ŸŽจ What changes?

The entire color palette has been redesigned for dark mode:

  • Background: dark navy instead of white
  • Text: light gray instead of black
  • Buttons and accents: muted color versions
  • Cards and panels: subtle gradients for depth

Why does this matter?

A quiz is a tool that should be comfortable in any conditions. Evening training, a quiz at a party in a dimmed room, a presentation on a projector โ€“ dark mode works everywhere a bright screen would be tiring or impractical.

๐ŸŒ ZTWS Quiz says Hello

13.12.2025 Tomek Sawko

ZTWS Quiz now available in English

The application now supports two languages: Polish and English. Every interface element โ€“ from buttons to error messages โ€“ is available in both versions.

๐ŸŒ How to switch languages?

In the navigation menu, you'll find a language switcher (globe icon). One click and the entire interface changes instantly. Your choice is remembered โ€“ on your next visit, the app opens in your preferred language.

What's the benefit?

Quizzes for international teams. Running a training session for a company with offices in different countries? Participants can use the app in their own language, regardless of the question language.

Wider reach. If you create educational or entertainment quizzes, the English version opens access to a global audience.

Professionalism at events. Quiz at an international conference? Foreign guests don't have to guess what the buttons mean.

๐Ÿ”„ Automatic detection

On first visit, the app checks your browser settings. If English is your default language โ€“ you'll see the English version. You can always change it manually.

๐Ÿ“ง Emails in English too

Email notifications (password reset, confirmations) are sent in the language you selected in the app.

What's been translated?

  • The entire user interface
  • Error and validation messages
  • Knowledge base and documentation
  • Email notifications
  • Participant screens (joining, gameplay, results)

Why does this matter?

A language barrier is a barrier to entry. By removing it, the quiz becomes accessible to everyone โ€“ whether it's a corporate training in Warsaw or an online event with participants from around the world.

๐ŸŽญ Choose your avatar

13.12.2025 Tomek Sawko

Choose your avatar before joining the quiz

Participants can now select their own avatar before entering the game. This isn't just personalization โ€“ it changes the dynamics of the entire quiz experience.

๐ŸŽญ How it works

After entering the access code, participants land on the avatar selection screen. They have two options:

Manual selection โ€“ a grid of 99 colorful avatars to browse. Click, confirm, done.

Random avatar โ€“ for the indecisive or those in a hurry. The system assigns an avatar automatically.

What's the benefit?

Personalization without registration. Participants don't need an account to have their own identity in the quiz. Pick an avatar, enter a nickname, and they're ready to play.

Better identification in crowds. When you're hosting a quiz for 50+ people, nicknames blend together. Avatars help quickly identify participants in rankings and on the podium.

An element of fun. Choosing an avatar is the first moment of interaction with the quiz. Participants engage before the first question even appears.

โฑ๏ธ Time limit

To keep the game moving, participants have 2 minutes to choose. A visual countdown timer changes color:

  • Green โ†’ plenty of time
  • Orange โ†’ less than a minute left
  • Red โ†’ final 30 seconds

When time runs out, the system assigns a random avatar and moves the participant forward.

๐ŸŽฎ Where are avatars visible?

  • Participant list in the lobby
  • Rankings after questions
  • Final podium
  • "Raise Hand" notifications

Why does this matter?

A quiz isn't just questions and answers โ€“ it's a group experience. Avatars create a sense of identity and competition. The participant with the yellow cat battles the one with the blue robot. That's more memorable than "user_47 vs user_23".

๐Ÿ’Ž New look for Results and Summaries

04.12.2025 Tomek Sawko

Redesigned Key Game Screens

I've changed how results are displayed after questions and at the end of the quiz. This isn't about cosmetics - these changes improve readability and engage participants.

โœจ Results After Each Question

Instead of simple bar charts, I've implemented a card system. Each answer (A, B, C, D) has its own card with a progress bar showing the percentage of votes.

What does this achieve?

Better readability. Cards are larger than classic charts, making them easier to see from a distance. Important when the quiz is displayed on a large screen.

Clear identification of correct answer. The correct answer is highlighted with color and icon. No need to read additional descriptions - you can immediately see which one was correct.

Dynamics. Cards appear with animation, and the progress bar fills gradually. This helps maintain participants' attention between questions, instead of showing everything at once statically.

๐Ÿ† Final Podium

The top three places now have dedicated cards with clear distinctions. The winner appears last with a confetti effect.

What does this achieve?

Building suspense. When results appear sequentially (2nd place, 3rd place, 1st place), participants wait for the winner to be announced. This works better than showing the entire table at once.

Recognition for the best. Highlighting the TOP 3 with separate cards makes participants on the podium feel appreciated. This motivates them in subsequent games.

Professional finale. If you organize a quiz at a corporate event or training, a nice ending leaves a better impression than a raw table.

๐Ÿ“Š Ranking Tables

The top three places in the tables now have a subtle background color distinction. I've increased the size of the avatars.

What does this achieve?

Better quiz management. As a host, you can quickly assess the state of the game - see the leaders, comment on the competition in real-time.

๐ŸŽฎ Navigation

I've moved the navigation buttons from the bottom of the screen to the sides. The left button ends the quiz, the right button moves forward.

What does this achieve?

More space for content. The footer no longer takes up space, providing more room for score tables and questions.

Intuitiveness. Back on the left, forward on the right - a natural scheme for every user.

Logo in Every View

I've added the ZTWS Quiz logo in the top left corner on all screens - questions, results, podium.

What does this achieve?

Consistency. Participants always know which app they're in. Important when showing the quiz to clients or at external events.

Branding. If you record the quiz or take screenshots, the logo is always visible.

Why Does This Matter?

Design is not just about aesthetics - it's a communication tool. Clear distinctions of correct answers help participants learn during the game. Animations keep attention between questions. Highlighting the podium motivates better performance in subsequent quizzes.

If you use ZTWS Quiz for training, corporate events, or education, these changes make the quiz look professional and run more smoothly. Participants are more engaged, and you as the host have better control over the game's progress.

๐ŸŽฎ Pilot Mode

04.12.2025 Tomek Sawko

Full Control Over the Quiz

I have implemented Pilot Mode - a feature that changes how quizzes are conducted on large screens.

How It Works?

The quiz is split into two screens:

Presentation screen is displayed on a projector or large monitor. Participants only see questions, answers, and results. Zero buttons, zero menu - pure content.

Remote control is on your phone or tablet. From there you control the entire quiz - start questions, go to results, end the game. Participants don't see this.

Why Is This Useful?

Professional appearance. When conducting a quiz at training, conference or corporate event, you don't want to show participants all buttons and admin options. The big screen shows only what's essential.

Convenience for host. You don't have to go to the computer every time you want to switch questions. Keep the remote in hand and control from anywhere in the room.

Synchronization. Thanks to WebSocket technology, every click on the remote is instantly reflected on the presentation screen. No refreshing, no delays.

When To Use It?

  • Training and workshops - remote in presenter's hand, content on projector
  • Corporate events - larger screen, better visibility for everyone
  • Educational presentations - full control over pace without distracting participants
  • Large rooms - no need to run to the computer

Enable Pilot Mode with one click by scanning QR code or copying link. No configuration needed.

๐Ÿš€ A New Era of Speed in ZTWS Quiz!

02.12.2025 Tomek Sawko

With great pleasure, I announce the implementation of Real-Time technology (WebSocket)! What does this mean for you? No more waiting and refreshing!

โšก Instant Reactions Forget about delays. Now everything happens in a fraction of a second: Lobby: Participants appear on the screen instantly after entering their nickname. Game: Questions change for everyone at the same time. Zero lags! Results: The answer counter reacts in real-time โ€“ you see the votes coming in as if you were watching a live broadcast.

๐Ÿ“ฑ Smoothness and Stability Thanks to the new technology, your phones use less data and battery (they don't have to constantly ask the server "is it ready yet?"). The app runs more smoothly even with hundreds of players.

This is the biggest change "under the hood" since the beginning of ZTWS Quiz. Check it out for yourselves and feel the difference! ๐Ÿ”ฅ
